Directed by Jean-François Pouliot with Writing credits Ken Scott, this Canadian movie (Seducing Doctor Lewis (2003) (International: English title) ) is a delightful, witty comedy about a small unemployed fishing community that gets an offer to a factory if the community can find a doctor and so in desperation they undertake the BIG lie to entice big city doctor to come to the island and try to get him to agree to stay with them. This take-off from Michael J. Fox's Doc Hollywood comes across much more geniune and creatively sensitive avoiding the typical Hollywood gloss and sex and substitutes great comedic irony and charm instead. Unfortuately, the limited run at the Sundance Film Festival isn't a great venue for much of a public run in the United States and the film is in need of an American film distributor.
