Actually, it's more like "The lip-synching Downey".
This film is quite unsettling, what with many. many shots of Robert Downey Jr's severely burned face and body. We are forced to endure the dual horror of Mel Gibson's bald head and Bob's physical condition.
Not that I minded.
GREAT FILM. I laughed a lot and enjoyed Robert unleashing acting demons. Mel Gibson was surprisingly restrained- something he's not known to do well. He seems perfect as Downey's shrink.
The music is where I give a giant thumbs up. The scene with Conway Twitty's "Make-Believe" was incredible. Not to mention the sicko rendition of "At The Hop". Straight out of a David Lynch film.
