What a glorious surprise it is when you go into a movie theatre
expecting to be bored or mildly entertained and you get thrown a giant curve-ball by the director.
I laughed my ass off at Intolerable Cruelty.
I went to the Ridge Theatre with low expectations. Shame on me.
That just goes to show that critics can be violently wrong.
Don't believe the no-hype!
The first scenes with Geoffrey Rush cruising Beverly Hills with Slimy and Fargunkel cranked up was my first indication that this was gonna be a great flick. The opening credits were arguably the best I've ever seen. Seriously, who here can deny that the opening credits are stone-cold beautiful?
The script is the star. The Coens know dialogue and they know the power of great dialogue delivered expertly. So they hire the perfect people. This is the first Clooney film where he didn't annoy me in some way. He's so good here that I'm thinking he should adopt a comedy career. Stop fooling us, George!
You're a great comedian- you've been holding out on us,
you well-groomed goof!
The Coens are blazing on and on with truly great motion pictures.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart....
