PASOLINI
A Film Retrospective 2013
San Francisco: September 14 – 15
Berkeley: September 20 – October 31
Following ones at MoMA and in LA, etc., a coalition of the Italian Cultural Center and other agencies is putting on a retrospective of all Pasolini's films, most reportedly in new 35 mm. prints. For details they have this cute website (http://www.colpapress.com/pages/cinema).
At The Castro and The Roxie in San Francisco, Pasolini: A Film Retrospective is co-produced by Colpa, the Castro Theatre, Roxie, Luce Cinecittà, Rome, and Fondo Pier Paolo Pasolini/Cineteca di Bologna. The exhibition is organized by Amelia Antonucci, Colpa Cinema, Camilla Cormanni, Paola Ruggiero, Luce Cinecittà, Roberto Chiesi, Fondo Pier Paolo Pasolini and Cineteca di Bologna. Presented in association with the Ministry of Culture of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco. Special thanks to the Italian Consulate General. Visit: www.colpapress.com/pages/cinema
I will not be able to attend. But I might re-watch some of the films and comment on them. And if you live in the Bay Area you can find about tickets on that "Colpa" website. There are three venues, the great Castro Theater in SF, the Roxie in the Mission, and the Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley. Thanks to Larsen Associates I may get to view copies of some I have never seen. The general schedule is copied below.
