Are we heading for another train wreck musical from Hollywood? Remember "A Chorus Line?" At the helm was Richard Attenborough, who had won the Academy Award for "Gandhi." Now we have Tom Hooper, who won the Oscar for "The King's Speech." Early word of mouth from screenings is not good. Here is an early review from The Wrap that might the shape of things to come...

I'm really looking forward to this movie version having seen the Broadway musical several times and having read the lengthy book a while back. The set design, the costume design, the entire look and sound appear to be spot on. I'm an Anne Hathaway fan ever since Devil Wears Prada and I have also enjoyed her singing. This musical seems to bring together all the components of a big screen epic.

I'm looking forward to your comments. I hope the film "ideal" lives up to your expectations.
