Please take a look at my overview (http://www.filmleaf.net/showthread.php?3211-Best-of-Annecy-Animations-2011-%28San-Francisco-Film-Society%29) in the Filmleaf Festival Coverage section here. (http://www.filmleaf.net/showthread.php?3211-Best-of-Annecy-Animations-2011-%28San-Francisco-Film-Society%29) I comment on nearly all of the offerings.
Annecy is the world's largest film festival dedicated entirely to animation. It takes place up in the French Alps by a lake. It's the 15th largest festival in the world, and second in France only to Cannes. They had 120,000 visitors at the 2011 event, 7,000 accredited delegates with 223 films in competition. You can review the various categories in competition on part of the Annecy webiste. (http://www.annecy.org/about/archives/2011/2011-official-selection)
The SFFS has a page o (http://www.sffs.org/Exhibition/SF-Film-Society-Cinema/the-best-of-annecy.aspx)n this show. You can go there to buy tickets.
