Well, with the success of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, Walden Media is jumping on the bandwagon with its new fantasy literary epic: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. It is to be directed by Andrew Adamson (Shrek) and scripted by Emmy award winning screenwriter Ann Peacock (HBO's A Lesson Before Dying). The question now is who should play the White Witch? Actress are already joining the race even before the first draft of the script is set. It could get an Oscar nomination. Some of the actress competing are Anjelica Huston, Meryl Streep, Miranda Richardson, Glenn Close, Rene Russo, Michelle Pfeiffer, Joan Allen, and Emma Thompson. So who do you guys think it should be?

I think Meryl Streep or Saffron Burrows would do fine.

Christina Ricci will probably be lobbying for a part- she worships that book- carries it everywhere with her, apparently.

Christina Ricci is too old and young for a part I think. She is too old to play one of the children, and is way to young to play the Witch. Maybe she will do a guest cameo as one of the creatures.

Rene Russo also loves the book and she might fight for the Witch.
