I think Karl Malden is a cinema Legend, and he just passed. At age 97.
I'd love to be able to make it to age 97...
He won an Oscar for Streetcar Named Desire, an Elia Kazan Masterpiece that in my humble opinion should be considered one of the top ten best films ever made. It's just amazing, that film.
And then there's On The Waterfront, which any cinephile worth his salt knows ALL ABOUT.
I coulda been somebody!
Kazan and Brando and Malden were a trio to be reckoned with.
But my favorite role of Karl's will always be the one in Brando's
One-Eyed Jacks.
Rent it tonight, in tribute to this special actor. Hell, why not make it a triple feature? Malden was a bona-fide film Legend.
