Martin Scorsese took top prize at the DGA (Director's Guild of America) Awards banquet last night, a precursor to the Oscars (over 90% go on to win!). Nominated seven times, this is the first time Scorsese has taken home the prize.
When asked at the banquet about "The Departed," he humbly responded; "I didn't even know the film was doing well until the studio called with the BO receipts after the second weekend."
