There is good and bad in this list. In the main categores, I'd say the good choices outweigh the bad. The same names come up too often though. More films ought to have been brought into the listings. Dreamgirls and Miss Sunshine (though inferior films to others listed) are true ensemble pictures; the others, in my definition, not--just a bunch of people acting separately.

I should have said, there are some really great performances here. And some fabulous actors. I do think that with these awards and all the other big ones it's a rich-get-richer setup. Actors who are already famous are rewarded for doing a good job, and thereby made even more famous.
