My thoughts ...
-- most commendable is how well the film conveys the relationship between the son and the father ... so believable and yet, complex (i.e., what human beings are really like) ... there is so much tension and disagreement between the two ... BUT also, so much love and feelings for each other ... the cast carried their roles well ...
-- despite the film being about a roadtrip from France to Mecca, be assured that it is not at all boring ... "interesting" events do happen (credibly) and the audience is made to feel along ... in the end, everyone learned something ... the son ... the father ... and definitely the audience!
Conclusion:
Recommended, esp. if you like films that describe human relationships very well.
