The razzie awards

It is rare for a Razzie winner to show up at the spoof awards held on the night before Oscars - but Berry did, saying her mother taught her that to be "a good winner you had to be a good loser first." She received a standing ovation.

"They can't take this away from me, it's got my name on it!" she quipped. A raucous crowd cheered her on as she gave a stirring recreation of her Academy Award acceptance speech, including tears.

"I want to thank Warner Brothers for casting me in this piece of sh*t," she said as she dragged her agent on stage and warned him "next time read the script first."

While I won't say that Catwoman was a classical great, it is difficult to understand how anybody can state that Halle Berry was the worst actress for her role in this 2004 film. Her character and her performance was one of the best elements of the film, avoiding what easily could have been a purely raw, erotic, pornographic rip-off of this comic series. Instead, Berry puts in what I would say is a mesmerizing sensual, feline performance without going overboard or falling into bad taste. Other than a few weak special effects (like basketball performances from Berry) and Sharon Stone's luke warm script, this movie was not every close to being bad, it had more going for it. As for bad, I could list Around the World in 80 Days, Catch That Kid, and Taking Lives that came out last year. Either terribly boring, lame, or inconsistent.
